In February 2003 an armed group seized the small town of Gulu (North Darfur), marking the start of a cycle of conflict and bloody repression. Five years later, the Darfur crisis runs on, with no sign of a peaceful outcome in the near future: instead, we are witnessing the dividing up of parties and ever more complex stakes.
