• Funding: ECHO (Humanitarian Aid Department of the European Commission)
• Duration: 20 months (November 2004 to June 2006). The project was suspended during the winter of 2005/2006)

During the first rehabilitation phase of the existing infrastructures we performed the following initiatives :

• Rehabilitation of pumping systems,
• Construction of a new reservoir (1.000 m³),
• Repair of the washrooms and facilities in the town's schools and hospital.

Simultaneously, we monitored two previously implemented pilot projects:

• Solar-powered pumping system in rural areas
• Compost-latrines (alternative procedure)
