This project is part of an integrated humanitarian response in the areas of health, nutrition, water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), and protection. The action is concentrated in the areas of Tiné, Guéréda (Milé extension and Koursigué camps) and Birak, where few humanitarian actors are present and where many gaps have been identified. To avoid tensions and ensure equitable aid, the intervention targets refugees, returnees and host communities affected by the conflict in Darfur. The approach combines an emergency response with longer-term actions to both meet immediate needs and strengthen the resilience of the population.

TGH is working in the EHA sector, where the objective is to ensure access to basic services: water supply, latrine construction and waste management facilities in three health centres. Emergency latrines will also be built or rehabilitated in the Koursigué camp, where there is a critical shortage.

TGH is also providing protection, with a focus on children and people with disabilities. Awareness campaigns, dedicated spaces for children, psychosocial support and community training will be organised.

TGH and its partners will also ensure that the specific needs of women, young people, the elderly and people with disabilities are better taken into account through inclusion and awareness-raising activities. All actions will be coordinated to enable better identification and support for vulnerable people.
