- Prefecture of Vakaga, Birao in the Central African Republic
- Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO)
Child protection is one of TGH’s most important areas of intervention, particularly in the Central African Republic. Since 2024, TGH’s teams have been carrying out actions in the prefecture of Vakaga to meet the needs of the most vulnerable children.
Thanks to the support of the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), TGH is setting up Awareness-Raising Sessions on Gender-Based Violence (GBV). These sessions are organised in schools and communities in Birao and as well as along the surrounding roads. These activities are carried out in partnership with the RECOPE (Community Child Protection Networks), the facilitators and supervisors of the Child-Friendly Spaces.

During these sessions, the topic of GBV was addressed, more specifically female genital mutilation and forced marriages. Children and communities were sensitised to the prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation, protection from abuse, children’s rights and the importance of schooling.
As part of its intervention, TGH also organized, throughout the year, recreational activities, particularly on the World’s Children Day, in order to strengthen the visibility of its actions among children and their parents. They were also made aware of the essential role of inclusive education in the prevention of GBV.
