TGH works to support the education of out-of-school children in Syria

Since 2018, TGH’s teams have been working in Syria to meet the population’s basic needs in terms of sanitation, education and child protection.

Amid the enduring effects of the Syrian crisis, many children have been forced out of school. To remedy this, TGH’s teams are implementing several interventions: the rehabilitation of schools and the organization of non-formal education courses for out-of-school children in the governorates of Aleppo, Dar’a and Rural Damascus.

In parallel, and in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the Ministry of Education, TGH is conducting return to learning campaigns in several cities, including Arbin and Hosh Elfara, located in the governorate of Rural Damascus.

With the support of the Syria Humanitarian Fund (SHF – OCHA), these campaigns aim to identify out-of-school children through community surveys conducted door-to-door by Red Crescent volunteers trained and supervised by TGH.

The main objective is to promote their gradual reintegration into the education system, either through formal school or through non-formal education activities offered by TGH.
