Local Initiatives Supporting Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development.
To mark World Environment Day, the TGH team in Myanmar took part in several local initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness and encouraging action for the environment.
The morning began with participation in an event organised by Prevent Plastic+, with the support of the European Union. As part of the event, TGH contributed to the planting of two trees and attended an awareness session on sustainable water resource management and the protection of the Irrawaddy dolphin. A sustainable marketplace was also held, showcasing environmentally friendly products and local recycling initiatives.
The team then visited the Makers Market & Skills Fair organised by UNFPA, providing an opportunity to discover the work of women entrepreneurs and to highlight products derived from the sustainable management of natural resources.
The morning was rich in learning opportunities and meaningful exchanges. It provided a valuable occasion to support inspiring local initiatives while strengthening collective awareness of environmental challenges and sustainable development.
