Context

In 1998, Serbian forces bombed Kosovo to counter the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) rebel movement and try to control the formerly autonomous province. The international community reacted, and an allied force intervened first diplomatically and then militarily. TGH in Kosovo

In June 1999, a peace agreement endorsed by the UN Security Council ended the war between NATO and Yugoslavia. Kosovar refugees, hosted by families in Albania, made their way to Kosovo. The Triangle Génération Humanitaire programme was no longer needed, and the team based in Albania followed the columns of refugees returning to their region of origin. Many families no longer had a home, or their homes were badly damaged.
