Closeness lies at the heart of Triangle Génération Humanitaire's work.
Although managing our projects requires rigorous administrative work, maintaining a direct link with the field and local communities is fundamental.
In this spirit, from 8 to 22 August, our Country Director in Pakistan, Karim Nayat, travelled through the mountainous districts of Gilgit-Baltistan (Hunza, Nagar, Gilgit, Skardu and Ghanche) with our partner, the Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF), as part of the GROW-Pak project.
The visit provided an opportunity to gather first-hand accounts of the experiences and aspirations of the rural communities, women farmers, and local entrepreneurial networks involved in the project.
This approach to dialogue, which included taking part in community events such as the Ghulkin Apricot Festival, strategic discussions with the departments of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, and direct exchanges with regional decision-makers and stakeholders, contributes to building resilient rural development that is closely aligned with real needs in the face of climate change.
This grassroots approach also ensures the GROW-Pak project’s smooth progress. Implemented by TGH and ASF since 2024 with the support of the Agence française de développement (AFD), the project creates sustainable opportunities for women and young people in Pakistan’s agricultural sector, particularly in the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
