Programme details

Implemented in the provinces of Wadi Fira and Ennedi-Est, this project follows on from the ARIANE project and aims to contribute to strengthening resilience as well as food and nutrition security for 25,301 people.

Placing gender mainstreaming at the heart of its intervention, the project fosters a protective environment and more equitable community dynamics for women and girls.

Our action thus aims to improve access for 4,217 highly vulnerable households to emergency food and nutrition assistance, and to sustainably reinforce the food and nutrition security of communities by promoting female leadership and sustainable practices in agriculture and livestock farming.

As such, the provision of unconditional cash assistance tailored to the seasonal nature of food insecurity for 750 households, the strengthening of food self-sufficiency for 1,850 of the most vulnerable households through climate-smart agricultural and pastoral practices, and the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the fight against undernutrition within their households are all activities that enable long-term improvements in behaviours related to nutrition, health, hygiene, gender equality, and the protection of both host and refugee populations.

Through the dissemination of good practices within households and communities, the project will generate long-term indirect benefits for over 75,903 people.
