Opening of an innovation laboratory in Kirkuk

Offering young people an environment in which to explore their creativity and develop their skills

As part of the SILM programme, the KSC, TGH’s implementing partner, in collaboration with the Kirkuk Directorate of Youth and Sport, established an Innovation Lab in the Salam Youth Center.

 

The lab was fully restored and equipped to provide a supportive environment for young people to explore their creativity, acquire digital and practical skills, and engage in positive activities that contribute to their personal development and the well-being of the community.

An inauguration that brought together a wide variety of stakeholders

Various organisations and government entities were present at the inauguration on 24 March. The Director of the Kirkuk Youth and Sports Directorate, representatives from the Baghdad Ministry of Youth and Sports, international organisations and civil society attended the ceremony.

 

A Prevention of Violent Extremism representative highlighted the importance of the laboratory as a means of promoting innovation and preventing violent extremism in Kirkuk.
