TGH is implementing an education and child protection project in Iraq. The project is supported by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), in partnership with Terre des Hommes Italy.
It aims to protect and integrate marginalized and at-risk children, including those associated with armed groups, victims of violence, working children and out-of-school children, by providing services such as case management, psychological support and education.
In July 2024, TGH launched an awareness-raising campaign on education and children’s rights in the villages of Siderah and Filitah, while continuing to refer at-risk children to specialized services.
TGH teams worked with local authorities to ensure support for vulnerable areas and initiated non-formal education activities in Shirqat’s community centers. They also led a campaign to enroll out-of-school children and those at risk of dropping out.
