Nepal: A magnitude 6.4 M earthquake strikes several districts of the country

An earthquake with serious consequences

A magnitude 6.4 M earthquake followed by several major aftershocks struck Jajarkot, Rukum West and five other districts of Karnali province in Nepal on 3 November 2023 at 23:47, killing 153 people and injuring 364 others.

 

The impact on Jajarkot and Rukum West was particularly severe, leaving 26,557 houses completely destroyed and 35,455 partially damaged.

A delivery of emergency equipment to municipalities was made

In coordination with the Jajarkot district administration office and DPNet Nepal, Triangle Génération Humanitaire supported the transport to ensure efficient and rapid delivery of relief supplies, stored in the district headquarters, to the various rural municipalities. Transport is currently underway.
