Child protection and education

TGH aims to strengthen the educational environment and opportunities for boys and girls affected by the conflict in the canton of Paletwa. In order to develop safe and protective environments, activities include awareness-raising campaigns on child protection and the creation of child-friendly spaces to provide psychosocial support. As well as promoting safe back-to-school activities, TGH also deploys educational volunteers to support home-based learning.

Water, hygiene and sanitation

The intervention is specifically aimed at improving WASH services in schools. In order to guarantee safe and permanent access to WASH services, TGH runs awareness campaigns on hygiene promotion, sets up WASH committees in schools and rehabilitates or builds latrines, hand-washing points and water tanks in schools, depending on the gender of the pupils.

Preventing COVID-19

Promoting preventive measures against COVID-19 is at the heart of TGH’s activities. Teachers, parents and community workers are trained in hygiene and the main protective behaviours. Mass communication on COVID-19 focuses on both risk reduction and positive messages to avoid fear and stigmatisation among the population.

Capacity building

This project also includes activities designed to improve coordination between TGH and its local partner, particularly in the context of remote management.
