The conflict in Sudan shows no signs of abating, and the humanitarian crisis is worsening day by day. Today, millions of people are severely affected, including children. Despite the difficulties they face in providing educational and psychosocial support to as many children as possible, TGH’s child protection teams remain undeterred.
Recently, our team travelled by donkey to the remote village of Yara in Darfur. Situated in the Jebel Marra region, the area has been severely affected by the consequences of war and it is difficult to deliver humanitarian aid there.
Once we arrived, our team was able to meet with the children and offer them activities designed to help them process their trauma in a safe environment.

These actions also enabled us to identify highly vulnerable children and integrate them into a psychosocial support programme. The European Union, through the Directorate-General for Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Aid Operations, supported the implementation of these actions.
