Programme details
This project implements Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities in the Ouaddaï region of Chad. The project’s objective is to reduce the risk of transmission of fecal-oral diseases in the Ouaddaï province by sustainably improving sanitation conditions and strengthening hygiene practices among vulnerable populations. By improving community sanitation, hygiene knowledge, and attitudes, the risk of disease spreading among the population of Ouaddaï Province will be reduced.
Thus, this project targets 100 households for the construction of 100 latrines. Training and awareness-raising sessions are also conducted to promote good hygiene practices. The project adopts a gender-sensitive approach by promoting the active participation of women and people with disabilities: the representation of these groups on management committees strengthens their decision-making power and contributes to a safer and more inclusive environment.
