In Nepal, the SFVC Project Supports the Transition to Safer and More Sustainable Agriculture

In response to the health and environmental challenges associated with the use of chemical pesticides in agriculture, the Sustainable Food Value Chain (SFVC) project supports rural communities in Nepal in their transition towards safer, more sustainable, and resilient production systems.

Implemented by Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH), Médecins du Monde France, and Farmers for Rural Development (FRDEV), with the support of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Fondation de France, and the Lord Michelham of Hellingly Foundation, the project combines sustainable agriculture, occupational health, and the strengthening of local stakeholders.

Through farmer training, support to cooperatives, the establishment of demonstration farms, and the strengthening of health services, the SFVC project contributes to improving the living conditions of farming communities while promoting food production practices that are more respectful of both human health and the environment.
