Displaced persons, refugees and the climate: humanitarian issues

The Triangle Génération Humanitaire team is pleased to invite you to take part in the conference ‘Displaced people, refugees and climate: humanitarian issues’, to be held on Friday 29 November from 1:30pm to 5:30pm at the Espace Jean Couty, in Lyon.

 

Faced with the major challenges posed by climate change and its impact on the displacement of populations, this conference will bring together experts, humanitarian actors and associations to debate the humanitarian consequences and possible solutions. The aim is to understand the current and future challenges, and to identify ways of responding more effectively to these complex crises.

Pierre Micheletti, Director of SOS Méditerannée, former Chairman of Action contre la Faim and Médecins du Monde. 

The conference programme will be structured around two major round tables. The first will focus on the current state of migration phenomena in 2024, highlighting the impact of climate change on population movements worldwide. The second round table will focus on the intervention strategies of solidarity stakeholders, in order to discuss humanitarian responses to the growing challenges linked to these crises and approaches to strengthening the resilience of affected populations.
