- UNHCR
On 19 September, heavy rains hit the Dakhla camp, causing considerable damage and the displacement of more than 200 families, 27% of whom lost their homes, requiring complete reconstruction.
With the support of the UNHCR, TGH teams have been mobilised to provide assistance to families affected by the floods through a number of activities:
- Supply of 1,000 litres of bleach to the Dakhla water station
- 17,560 bars of soap distributed to the public
- Psychologists mobilised to support disaster-stricken families
- Logistical support for psychologists' travel by providing vehicles and drivers
- Mobilisation of a TGH vehicle to transport 112 batches of nappies supplied by the Ministry of Social Assistance and the Promotion of Women.
These various actions provided initial emergency support, enabling a rapid response to families devastated by the floods.
