Programme details

This project aims to meet the needs of communities affected by climate change in southern Iraq. It is structured around three main pillars. The first pillar aims to respond to the protection needs of populations through awareness-raising sessions, community events related to protection, and discussion groups and training on parenting and child protection.

The second pillar aims to improve the agricultural practices of small and medium-sized local farmers, with a focus on cash crops and fruits, through climate-friendly techniques and hands-on learning sessions on farms. These activities generate income through irrigation management and the creation of greenhouses.

The third and final pillar consists of financial support and capacity building through general and technical training.

To support community resilience and adaptation to current and future shocks, the projects are implementing activities focused on strengthening livelihoods, agriculture and protection sectors affected by climate change in recent years.
