Ukraine : Building Integrated Responses Through Partnership and Capacity Strengthening

This May, TGH officially launched its project in Ukraine funded by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, placing integration at the center of the response.

Together with local implementing partner Posmishka, TGH facilitated joint training sessions with consortium partner Solidarités International and their local partners on the safe identification of protection risks and referral pathways.

As the frontline teams of Solidarités International engaged in WASH and Shelter activities are often among the first to interact with affected communities, strengthening their capacity to recognize protection concerns and safely connect individuals to specialized services is essential to ensuring coordinated and holistic support.

In parallel, TGH and Posmishka teams participated in intensive Case Management trainings focused on Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), supporting continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and alignment with current best practices.

With strengthened coordination and capacities in place, project activities successfully commenced in June, supporting the delivery of integrated Protection, Shelter, and WASH assistance to conflict-affected populations in Eastern Ukraine.

This initiative reflects the importance of cross-sector collaboration in humanitarian response and the value of partnerships in delivering people-centered assistance.

This activity is part of the project “Strengthening the resilience of the most vulnerable populations through Integrated WASH, Protection and Shelter Assistance, including winterization, in conflict-affected areas of Southern and Eastern Ukraine”, funded by the European Union’s Humanitarian Aid department and implemented by TGH in consortium with Solidarités International and local implementing partner Posmishka.
