Programme details
The project aims to empower at-risk children and youth in Iraq through sport initiatives, inclusive education, and child protection services. TGH is providing education and social cohesion through rehabilitated football playgrounds, outdoor sports camps, youth-led sport initiatives, and structured tournaments, with various activities such as:
- Rehabilitation of football playgrounds, tournaments, and outdoor sports camping activities
- Support to youth-led structures, initiatives, and awareness events on child protection, education, climate, and sport
- Training for teachers, coaches, and detention centers facilitators on child protection, child rights, and psychosocial support through sports
- Life skills and civic value training for at-risk children and youth
- Non-formal education courses
- Establishment of an innovation lab to provide a safe space
These activities will reduce inequalities by promoting inclusion by bringing together people from different backgrounds, reducing social and economic inequalities. It will also provide opportunities for marginalized communities, including children with special needs, to engage in football and access resources.
