Programme details

TGH, Aljuzur and Sahari are leading a project for 36,822 individuals. This seeks to urgently address critical gaps in water supply for IDPs in Tawila while simultaneously strengthening emergency preparedness and contingency response capacity in El Fasher when the access is granted. Water-trucking interventions and routine water quality monitoring, will directly respond to the urgent water supply gaps in Tawila.

In addition, the proposed capacity building component for local partners will reinforce local systems to manage these gaps on a longer term. The proposed intervention is designed as part of an area-based response in Tawila, implemented in close coordination with SI, DCD, IRC, and TADO through regular WASH Cluster and field-level coordination mechanisms.

TGH, in partnership with SAHARI and Aljuzur, provide safe, chlorinated drinking water to IDPs in Tawila, through water trucking service. Water supply interventions under this project will be implemented in four IDP camps, over a five‐month period. The intervention will reach a total of 33,774 individuals through water trucking and routine water quality monitoring.

In addition, a contingency response is planned for El Fasher, targeting 3,000 individuals subject to humanitarian access. TGH will implement life-saving WASH activities, including emergency water trucking and the rehabilitation, operation, and maintenance of existing water schemes, based on identified needs.
